This is the type of dope shit I need to hear more of from the Bay Area/West Coast.. real beats and real lyrics. Glad to hear from people who still care about the quality of the music they release. StreetMedia is ELS (the MC) from Stockton and Ammbush (the DJ/producer) from Oakland. Some of you will remember Ammbush as he has put in massive amounts of work in the Bay Area music scene and beyond including work with Chilee Powdah, Young “D” Boyz, Kelly Price, Raphael Saadiq, A-Plus, Zion I and many more.
StreetMedia’s self-titled debut album is scheduled to drop this month on Sweetbreads Creative Collective. I should have a copy shortly and will give my thoughts after I’ve had a chance to soak it in. Upcoming releases on the label also include albums from J. Davinci and Ammbush.

Ace Hustle is back with his new single “Night Time” off his newest joint “The Purple Tape”. So inspired by the very talented Black Milk’s instrumental ode to Prince’s “Purple Rain”, A. Hustle went in the studio and laced some of the choicest production in the rap game. “Night Time” was the first of the beats he ran through and it only got better from there. The Purple Tape is set to drop next week, but we couldn’t wait to let this one out, so here it is!

In this raunch-tastic track, Illa tries to convince one of the club honeys he’s had his eye on to join him for an evening of good, wholesome fun. Yeah, that’s a flat-out lie.
