“Feel Alive” is a feel-good, super-pop track that’s sure to have you swaying and smiling before the first chorus breaks. The track opens with some whimsical synths, which set up the dreamy, easy-going feel of the track. Enter the chorus, which, yes, is catchy, but don’t let it fool you- the Metermaids are lyrically enlightened, and this cut is nothing short of poetic. With lines like “Static wrote the rhythm of my heart beat” and “A cigarette for every kiss / A photo album made of ash,” the imagery their rhymes evoke is clear as day as the boys speak of progressing and growing through hardship and strife. With lyrics this uplifting, Metermaids don’t even need a beat to give life to this track.
